Less light spill, a more comfortable view of your aquarium

Do you find yourself looking directly at the bright LEDs of your Radion XR15 when seated? This magnetic light shade shields sideways light spill so you can enjoy a more comfortable view of your reef aquarium.

Designed specifically for the EcoTech Radion XR15 G5 and G6, the shade hangs beneath the light. It attaches magnetically to the mounting points used by the official EcoTech diffuser. Installation is straightforward, with no tools or modifications to your light required.

Why choose this light shade?

• Less distracting glare: helps shield direct views of the bright LEDs from the side.
• Magnetic mounting: the magnets are permanently embedded during 3D printing. The shade attaches easily and can be removed just as simply.
• Made to fit the XR15 G5 and G6: designed specifically for these Radion models.
• Open underside: reduces sideways light spill without placing a diffuser panel in front of the LEDs.
• Made from PETG-CF: lightweight and sturdy, with a matte finish.
• Two colour options: all black or black with an orange accent.
• Original design from the Netherlands: designed and 3D printed in-house by a reef keeper.

Installation and compatibility

This light shade fits the EcoTech Radion XR15 G5 and XR15 G6.

Hold the shade beneath the light and align it with the mounting points for the official EcoTech diffuser. Allow it to attach magnetically and check that it is securely in place. Simply remove it for cleaning or access to the light.

The light shade and the official EcoTech diffuser cannot be used at the same time. They use the same mounting points. If you currently use a diffuser, remove it before fitting the shade.

Designed for more comfortable viewing

The shade helps limit distracting light around your aquarium, for example when the fixture is mounted above eye level and you view the tank while seated. The open underside allows light to shine directly downwards.

The amount of light spill blocked depends on the mounting height of the light, its position above the aquarium and your viewing angle.
